The Photo Encaustic class will focus on the latest techniques and tools involved in the process of creating finished photo encaustic art works. The latest methods in wax layering and finishing will be reviewed. This course will also include techniques in hand coloring and photographic enhancment with collage, image transfers and floats.


The encaustic painting class will focus on the latest techniques and tools involved in the painting process.  The instructor will teach various methods of creating encaustic including the techniques of fusion, carving, scraping, floating, image transfer, layering, and polishing.

  • Oil pastels or oil sticks
  • Tin pans
  • Griddles
  • Scraper
  • Pottery tools
  • Lettering
  • Archival adhesive
  • Masks
  • Brushes
  • Heat Gun
  • Torch
  • Beeswax
